Work(07)

The last seven products we shipped. All still in production.

  1. Four steps. One team.

The people on the first call are the people who ship. Nobody hands your product to a second crew halfway through.

  2. 1 week
Plaster wall in late sun with three clusters of sticky notes, a printed count screen and a pencil wireframe stuck up among them

    Step 1: Research

We interview six to eight real users, read the data you already have and spend a day on the floor with your ops team.

You get: A problem map and a feature list ranked by impact

  3. 2 weeks
Low close-up of a tablet on a plywood desk running a grey clickable prototype, a sketchbook out of focus behind it

    Step 2: Shape

Wireframes, a clickable prototype, the technical architecture and a sprint plan at a fixed price.

You get: A Figma prototype and a fixed-price sprint plan

  4. 6–8 weeks
Laptop at night on a concrete desk showing Stockroom's live count table, a phone with the shift rota beside it

    Step 3: Build and ship

Two-week sprints with a live demo every Friday. Production releases start in sprint two.

You get: A product in production, CI/CD, error monitoring

  5. 2 weeks
The clipped Stockroom engineering handbook on a terrazzo table in hard morning sun, a closed laptop behind it

Step 4: Measure and hand over

We watch real usage, fix what it shows, and train your team to own the code.

You get: Docs, full access, 60 days of warranty

Ten weeks after our first call, our stores were running the real thing. Two years on, my team still reads the code they left without needing a guide.
